Another day in Bangkok

This city is beginning to grow on me. The noise, the incredible number of sidewalk shops and restaurants. At night when they close up the shops, sidewalk vendors and restaraunts move in. The smells are incredible. I don't think anyone in Bangkok cooks at home. It is such a vibrant city.
We continued our whirlwind tour of Bangkok's attractions today. We started by taking the sky train to the Chao Phraya river to take a water taxi to visit some temples. The river is crowded with commuters, all taking the boats to get to work.
We visited Wat Arun or The Temple of Dawn first. It is a phenomenal pagoda, at least 200 ft high, constructed of concrete and covered with mosaics made from the captured Chinese vessels that used broken pottery as ballast, so all of the mosaics are made of Chinese pottery. Incredible.
From there we crossed back over the river to Wat Pho, the country's largest temple. It is also where you will find the famous reclining Buddha. Enormous. Pretty spectacular.
We then moved on to the Grand Palace. I will have to dedicate a post just to this so I can show all of the pictures.
Our last stop was the Vimanmek Mansion, built by King Rama V as his residence. It is a 72 room mansion built of golden teakwood. Unfortunately no pictures were allowed there.
